Studying...

This is what happens when Conner helps dad study...

Yup, high productivity.

Dirkee's Lake

We had beautiful spring weather this week, and we tried our best to get out and enjoy it.  We go on lots of walks near our apartment.  Conner loves being outside.
Yesterday we went on a morning hike on a trail at Dirkee's lake, which is by Shoshone Falls.  It is such a rugged, beautiful place.  It is very much Idaho desert, and it is lovely.

We were very glad that we decided to go on the hike before lunch.  It was very warm by the end.  We were almost tempted to jump in the freezing water of Dirkee's... almost.

The trail starts at the lake/camp ground and goes around the lake and up the Canyon.  These stairs switch back and forth to get you up the canyon wall.  They gave us quite the workout.  :-)

Here is a view of the park/ campground from above:
It was a nice 2-3 mile hike.  We are excited to get to know the Twin Falls area a little better this summer.

Baby Shower Fun

This weekend I went to a baby shower for a neighbor of ours who will be having a baby girl in the next few weeks.  I have seen all sorts of cute DIY skirt ideas for baby girls, and decided to give it a try.  Didn't they turn out cute?!
I used an old t-shirt, some jean scraps from an old jean skirt, and pieces of an old skirt of mine to make them.  I have been working on getting rid of some of my old clothes that I never wear.  I don't know why, but I have a really hard time with getting rid of stuff.  Making something cute out of them sure makes it easier to give them up!

We find out on Thursday whether we are having a boy or a girl.  If this next baby is a girl, I might be making a lot more skirts!

Temple Square

Last weekend we made a trip to Utah to visit some of Daniel's old roommates and their families.  It was great to see them all.  Since we were close, we decided to take Conner to Temple Square.
We had not been there for a while.  It was fun to walk through the visitor center and look at the artwork.
Conner enjoyed the flowers.  We had to watch him though, he is not very gentle...
There is a new shopping center across from Temple Square that is really nice.  It has a lot of water features.

Easter with the Brown Family

On Sunday we went to Pocatello to celebrate Easter with my family and to see Tashina & Arlen's new baby girl.  We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  Conner loved it.

We did have to take his bag away a few times, because he liked to take the eggs out of the bag almost as much as he liked putting them in.  :-)

Grandpa took a nap on the lawn while the grand kids picked up eggs.

He is such a cute little walker!
We tried to take a picture of Boston, Conner & Tioni together.  It did not exactly work as planned.  Conner was very good.  I told him to sit and he folded his arms.  He minds really well when he knows he will get a treat.
Isn't Tioni precious?  She is so small.  Conner was never that small.  He weighed a pound more at birth and had a much larger head.

Yup.  Our son loves candy!

The Newest Member of Our Family

We bought a new car today!
Ok, so it is a new-to-us-car.  It is actually a lot older than it looks, but we are very excited about our second vehicle.
We have been looking for an inexpensive 2nd vehicle so that I will have a car and a little freedom while Daniel is in vet school.  Our car (we are not sure on a name yet), is a 1996 Honda Passport and we got it for under $2000.  It is 4 wheel drive, has a sun roof, and working AC, we are set!
Conner seams to love our new friend.  :-)
This will be where a lot of our boxes and stuff will go on the move to California.  :-)

Conner's Announcement

Yup.  It is true!  Baby Grant #2 is due September 3, and we are super excited!  We should find out if we are having a boy or a girl on April 19th.

This fall will be full of changes in the Grant family.  We will move to California, start the adventure of vet school, and have a new baby.  We are very excited for all three.

Easter Egg Hunt!

The Allen's, a family in our ward, had an Easter egg hunt at their house this evening for the kiddos.  Conner loved it!  I was worried that he would not be interested in finding them or picking them up.  He is a smart kid though.  He saw me put candy in the ones we took, so he knew they were worth getting.  :-)
After he had 4 or 5 eggs he was pretty content to just hold the eggs.

He is such a people watcher.  He especially likes to watch other little kids.  He has been quite a little talker lately, but he barely spoke the entire time we were at the Allen's.  He was too busy watching all the kids.  Fun, Fun!
