Conner's Language

Conner has been experimenting with his voice.  He has mastered the da da da da noise.  Fun fun!

Best. Picture. Ever.

Conner and I spent Friday at my parents house canning applesauce with my mom.  Of course, I failed to take pictures of the canning, but I took a few pictures of Conner and Grandpa Brown at dinner. This one was by far my favorite.  Conner was trying to eat a little graduates cracker thing, and I am not sure what Grandpa was doing...

I hope Conner likes applesauce, because we made a bunch!
This is Conner's, "who is this guy?!" look.  :-)
Grandpa offered to feed Conner his first homemade raspberry ice cream.  I had to tell Conner maybe next year.  The ice cream was amazing though!

Sleep at Last!

Twice this week Conner slept from around midnight until 5:30-6:00 am.  It was beautiful.  I forgot how great it felt to sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours without interruption.  I hope this is a new trend!

Filling the Tank

We have finally started feeding Conner solids, and it is a party!  He makes the right sound affects and everything.
Here he is eating rice cereal:

We have fed him rice cereal for quite a while, but the last few weeks we started trying a few vegetables and fruits.  His first vegetable was green beans.  He is definitely his father's son, because he loved them! (green beans have never been my favorite vegetable)

He is not a clean eater, but he sure is cute!
He is very independent.  He always wants to hold the spoon.  He has been working on cutting his first two teeth, so chewing on the spoon must feel good.
I am going to miss Conner's gummy smile.  His two bottom teeth are coming in.  You can feel his first tooth, the second one is working on breaking through.
The last few weeks Conner has become much more mobile.  He likes to roll from his back to his front.  Then he scoots around so that he can reach his toys or whatever else catches his attention.  We need to baby proof our apartment before he really starts moving.
Conner can't really sit by himself.  He only lasts a few seconds before he topples, but he is getting closer.  It is so fun to watch him learn!

Dad's Idea of Bed Time

Conner is a smart kid.  It is so cute to watch him learn and figure things out.  One thing he has learned is that he likes Dad's idea of bed time much more than Mom's.

Daniel's method of putting Conner to bed is to play with him until he is completely exhausted.  Then he passes Conner to mom so that he can go to sleep.

Conner loves to be covered and uncovered with a blanket.

And Daniel wonders why it is so hard to get him to fall asleep.  Here is a video of their bedtime game:

The Big Move

It is true - we moved again.  We have now lived in Idaho Falls and American Falls.  It is time for us to experience Twin Falls.
Once again we discovered that we have way too much stuff.  Thanks to our friends and ward members in American Falls, we were able to move everything from our apartment to our 16'-0" moving truck very quickly.
Our friend Gena watched Conner for us while we finished cleaning.  Thanks a whole heap!  Conner had a blast, and we were able to focus on cleaning & packing.  It would have taken us much longer if it was not for all of the wonderful help.  Thank you everyone.

We will miss American Falls, but we are excited to explore Twin Falls.  It sounds like there is a lot to do in the area.  We live in a small, friendly community of apartments.  We have already had neighbors bring us cookies (yum!) and welcome us to Twin.

We are still working on moving in, but once we finish I will be posting pictures of our new apartment.

Employed at Last!

Ok, so Daniel has been employed a lot the last year and a half.  When I say employed A Lot, I mean by a lot of different people.  Here is a list:  Kinghorn Veterinary Clinic, U.S. Census Bureau, Idaho Falls Animal Shelter, UPS (ish), and American Falls Fish Hatchery.

Yup - he has learned a wide variety of skills in the last 2 years.  I am proud to announce that Daniel officially has a job at a vet clinic again - Hurray!!  This is a big deal.  It is difficult to find a job at a vet clinic, especially a job that will pay you for the experience you are gaining.

We are super excited about this opportunity.  The veterinarians he is working with are happy to answer his questions and explain surgeries and procedures.  It will be a great learning experience for Daniel, and hopefully (cross your fingers!) help him get into vet school.

Good Work Daniel!
