We Are Loved & Remembered

Saturday was the General Relief Society Broadcast.  I loved President Uchtdorf's Message.  It was incredible.  A great reminder of what is really important and our individual worth.

Here is a preview in case you missed it!  You can watch the entire talk at LDS.org in the conference archives. ( I watched it again today with Daniel).
I am so excited for the rest of General Conference next weekend!

Blocks

I pulled out some blocks that I had left over from a craft project for Conner to play with.  They were a hit.
Mom builds towers, Conner destroys towers.
They make noise when you hit them together.
And, of course, they taste great!  :-)

Give Me 10

Up...
Down...
Up...
Down...
Up...
Down.
Learning to crawl is a difficult thing, and Conner is not quiet grasping the forward motion part.  :-)

He holds himself up on his hands and toes (he has not figured out how to use his knees), and he sticks his little bum in the air, but the only way he ever moves is backwards.

One day soon he will get the hang of it.  For now I will enjoy watching him work out his little muscles.

Peaches & Pie

Guess what?  I am 24!  I always figured that by the time I was this OLD I would feel like a responsible adult... maybe next year.  :-)

It is kind of nice that Daniel is 4 years older than me.  No matter how old we get, I will always feel young when I compare our ages.

Since Daniel has work and school all day, my wonderful mother came to hang out with me for my birthday.  We drove down in the canyon and bought peaches.  We were able to get some for $.34/lb!

They were pretty ripe, so we came back to the apartment and spent the rest of the day canning peaches. Yum!  We gave some to Conner, and he loves them.  It is a good thing, because we have 21 quarts.  He will be eating a lot of peaches this next year.  :-)
My mother also bought the foods to make my birthday cake.  I did not want a traditional cake this year (with 2 of us we would never eat the whole thing). I saw a delicious ice cream pie on pinterest that I wanted to make my own version.
Here is a break down: Oreo crust, vanilla ice cream, sliced bananas, chocolate fudge sauce, cookies & cream ice cream, cookie dough ice cream, whipped cream.  Yup - it was delicious.

I have a wall that I am going to dedicate to this poster (it is my next craft project... when I have time for it).  I normally would say that money can't buy happiness, but I had to agree with this poster:

Teeth!!

It is official, Conner has teeth!  Last week his bottom two popped through.  At first I was sad to loose the gummy smile, but I have decided that his two front teeth are adorable. (If you look very close you can see them in this picture.)
Mr. droolly-face in his cameo diaper in honor of the beginning of hunting season.  :-)
He is getting really good and sitting by himself.  He has had a cold this week (sad!) which messed with his balance a bit, but for the most part he can stay up without falling backwards.
For the most part he is a very cute, very happy camper.  :-)  One of his favorite things to do is play with his dad.  Between school and work, Daniel is gone most days from 6:15 a.m. until 6:15 p.m. or later, so Conner does not get to see him very much.  They try to maximize the time they do spend together.

Exploring Twin Falls

One of Conner's favorite things is to be outside.  He loves looking around.  Lucky for him, his grandma Grant got him a nice hiking backpack.  At first he was not sure how he felt about being strapped in to this padded confinement.
But he got over that pretty quick.
We explored a place called Rock Creek in Twin.  It was a very nice little park in a little canyon with a path along the creek.
This is Conner's face almost the entire time.  He does not really smile, he is just content to sit in the backpack and look around.
It is so nice to be able to comfortably carry him along with us on our adventures.  This is my new workout plan.  Walk 1 mile a day carrying 18.5 pounds.  :-)
Our second walk was along the canyon.  The Twin Falls canyon is so rugged and beautiful.

One benefit of living in Twin is that my parents are very close.  Conner got to have a night with Grandma Brown this week while Daniel & I went to the temple.  Thanks Mom!

Our Growing Boy

Do you remember this baby?
Now he can roll (and he does, all over the apartment), sit by himself (for a minute or two before tipping), drink from a water bottle, and he has two teeth!!

I can't believe how fast he is growing!  Due to his new found mobility, I have found Conner in several interesting sleeping positions.  Yup- he is adorable.
I finally got Conner an exersaucer a few weeks ago.  He loves it!
The best part is that I was able to get it for $5!  :-)
I guess the exersaucer is supposed to help babies build leg strength. I am quite fond of Conner's chunky calves, so I have mixed feelings about that aspect of his toy.

It is so fun to watch him learn and grow.  We are so lucky to have such a fun, adorable, happy little boy.  I love him to pieces!
