Centennial Park

Thursday we visited Centennial park.  It is down in the canyon down river from Shoshone Falls.
Conner wanted to walk right into the river.  We compromised and let him put his hand in.

I think he would have been happy to sit here all day.

The munchkin chasing a butterfly.

There is a waterfall on the way down the canyon that you can walk behind.

 Pretty!
Kristin and the waterfall.

The Grant family and the water fall.
Conner wanted to touch the waterfall...

A view of the valley from behind-ish the watherfall.

Daniel let Conner test out the stream with his feet...
It was a little too cold for his taste.
 Thanks for the visit Kristin!

Target Practice

On Wednesday we went target shooting.  Conner loves exploring outside, so he had a great time helping set up targets to shoot.

He is a little head strong.  Once he decides on a destination or direction, he goes - right through any sage brush or bush that may be in his way.

Conner wanted to help load the magazines... and maybe see what bullets taste like.

Conner's first lesson on hunter's safety.
We tried to get Conner to wear the ear covers, but we were unsuccessful.  He was determined to take them off.
 Kristin vs. the targets.

Dano taking a turn.  This was our first time shooting since we lived in Idaho Falls.  Daniel probably won't have the time to go much during vet school, so he had to make the most of this trip.

Conner and I hung out in the car and ate muffins, gold fish, and marshmallows.  :-) We shut the door for the load guns to save his ears.

Proof- I can shoot, even with that big belly in the way!  I even hit a target successfully.  It may have been luck.

Shoshone Falls with Aunt Kristin

Hurray for visitors!  Kristin came this week for a little break after taking the LSAT.  I am so glad she came.  It encouraged us to get out of our boring routine and do a few fun outings.

Tuesday we went to Shoshone Falls for a hike and picnic.

Conner played Frisbee with us.  :-)

I am not sure if he was more excited about the water fall or the birds flying around the water fall.
The falls.  There is not a lot of water this time of year, but they are still beautiful.
Conner is very good at telling stories.  I am sure this was a good one.
 The gang.
Conner and his cute little hat.  He has this bad habit of turning away whenever I try to take a picture of him.
Conner really enjoys taking his hat off.  He only keeps it on if he is distracted.
We made it to the top!

Conner has been going through a ridiculously picky-eater stage.  Luckily, we found a cure.  We fed him a hot dog dipped in BBQ sauce for our picnic, and he ate the whole thing!  On top of that, he has been a fantastic little eater ever since.  I give full credit to Kristin's visit and that hot dog.

Family Pictures

This past weekend we got together with all of my siblings and their families.  My youngest brother, Sheldon, left on his mission Wednesday.  So this was the last time we will all be together for 2 years.

We had a lot of fun enjoying my parents little farm.  Conner loves the cows, horse, dog, and chickens.  We are still working on animal sounds, but in his world a cow says "mow"  which is pretty close.  :-)

We took family photos on Monday to document our togetherness.
The Brown Family.  Look how big our family is getting!  It is crazy how fast it grows.  In 3 months this picture will be out of date and I will have to photo shop a baby into my arms.  :-)

Our family.  Conner was so good for pictures.

My amazing parents.  :-)

My parents & siblings.

Grandma & Grandpa and all the grand kids.  We asked Conner to fold his arms, and he sat their like a champ!  Yup, he is adorable.  Poor Tioni is a little outnumbered by the boys.

Conner driving Grandpa's tractor.

Dad pushing/ tickling Conner in the tire swing.  Conner loved the tire swing.

We had a great weekend with family.  I can't believe that Sheldon is old enough to be on his mission.  I am so proud of him for making the decision to serve a mission. He gave a great 'farewell' talk on Sunday.  I am sure he will be a great example to the people of Costa Rica.  Good luck Sheldon!

The rest of the pictures from the weekend are on my siblings cameras... so I will be posting more later.

Master of the Stairs

Spring is finally returning to Twin Falls.  Hurray!  Conner and I celebrated by walking to the park yesterday.
He is becoming a rather independent little boy.  Yesterday he was able to climb on to the first step of the jungle gym all by himself.  He climbed up the stairs and went down the slide over and over and over... His little legs had to be burning!
Here is a video of one of his climbs.
Every time he went down the slide he would look back happily and laugh, except the times I got it on camera.  (of course!) I think he must have been trying to look back at me this time, because his ride down was not very graceful.
But he was not deterred.  He went straight back to the stairs to go up and down again!

After playing for a while, we stopped for a snack.  Conner loves muffins.

I tried to get him to look at me and smile for a picture, but he was too focused.  Yup.  He ate all of it except the hard-ish bottom.

Studying...

This is what happens when Conner helps dad study...

Yup, high productivity.
